Living in the Now - I AM

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”GB

I AM formula- it may look like a simple sentence, but it is not.

In fact, it is the same OHM - OM - AUM seen in hindu culture, or the same OM in Buddhism - and of course it also means I AM.

In Christianity and Islam it is Ameen.

Same as I AM.

I AM - Living in the NOW.

Not in the future, not in the past. It is only Now. Realizing there is only one time we are living and that is Now.
How many times didn't your past come after you and did not let you be happy ?

Well, memory is doing that.
People knowing you now, don't know your past, your behaviours, or maybe rude actions.
They know only now.
There is now forever, so to say.

Fears and worries stop us from being happy.
Stop a second and think of fear, think of worry.

Worry is all about the future - fear comes from the past (or can be projected in the future too)

But that is not that important, but what you must understand is that you are only able to do something Now, not in the future, not in the past.
LIKE - I am going to quit smoking tomorrow.
Or
I am going to lose weight after Christmas.
I am going to study from next week.
etc.
This is wishful thinking, and projecting the future.
If you want something, wish it now.

Why I am writing all this.
Because I realized several times and I still remind myself that life is every moment, not some MOMENTS.

Being happy many times is:

thinking of vacation (it is January Now)
going in vacation in June(future).

What is the difference you might think?

Well, going in vacation for sure is being happy, because it is most likely to relax and have fun.

While
thinking of vacation equals that all this time from January till June my mind is set on the vacation(future) and eveyday moments are trivial/less important. So my mind/focus is set on the future, not the present. And I cannot enjoy the future since is not here.. but I also do not enjoy the present thinking of the future!!

When we have targets and we wish them to come just like that, the time from Now till the Target, seems nonsense, waste of time.

On the other hand, a negative example.

Monday I have an exam.
The exam will be 2 hrs.

Now it is Tuesday ( I think, lol)
From Tuesday to Monday morning I am most likely to worry, about the grade about the test, about me failing etc.
This is living with fear and WORRY especially.
Of course I can study from now and I have high chances of taking a good grade, but worries are habits. We have them since we were kids and life without worries is senseless. It is normal to get the chills when you go into the examination room, at a quarter to 10 at the exam but not 5 days in advance. Worries are not usefull habits. Worries are stopping us in our way to inner peace and living in the Now.

These are just a few examples, they might not suit everybody, but they were set for better understanding.

Now is the Time to Be.
Breathe.
Enjoy.

Even if you are not in the mood of breathing and enjoying, or you may have a lot of problems, realize that life is passing anyways. You've got two choices - either you live in the Now and you stay grounded, you build with patience your life - either you stay in the Past or Future, hunted by worries and fears - and create ilussionary futures and pasts.

Ok.
Sheep katie must be sleeping.
(please contradict me)

And sheep moni must be at work
(cuz she works in the morning this week)

Me, at work with a bottle of orange juice.

Coffee in sheepland, yeah!!

And yes, final Quote from GB
“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.”
